Primarily extracted from ECA's #8459 and #8460 filed in January, 1907 from Whitetop, VA.

Wilborn served in Company A, 26th Regiment, North Carolina Infantry during the War. He was wounded at Bristow, VA on Oct 14, 1863. He was on the list of men surrendered by Gen. Lee to Gen. Grant at Appomattox on April 9, 1865. He was paroled that same day. He walked back home to Ashe County.
